WHAT THE JUDGES ARE LOOKING FOR:

Judges will score competitors according to the “total package” which is a balance of size, symmetry, and muscularity.

The judges are looking for an “X” Taper. Regardless of the division, they key to symmetry is full, round muscle bellies and symmetrical development from front to back, side to side, and top to bottom. Shoulder to quad sweep ratios should be proportionate. In women divisions, the body should flow with nice lines.

This sport is subjective, so the judges also judge based on preference if the judging is close between two individuals.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO PREPARE FOR COMPETITION DAY:

Get good sleep if you can. You need to wake up early to prep so there is no rushing last minute.

Prepare your food. Bring a cooler full of competitor friendly snacks and coach recommended foods.

Make friends, stay positive, and ask for critiques.

Be sure to smile and have fun. It’s your time to shine, so set that stage on fire and let people know what you came to do... and that is to PERFORM and SHOW OFF YOUR HARD WORK .
